What the weather will be like

• Biggest swing is 15°C between dawn and afternoon. Dress in layers: cotton underneath, a shawl or light jacket on top that comes off by 10 am.
• The 05:15 sunrise boat (9 Nov) is the coldest moment of the trip. Breeze on open water makes 14–15°C feel colder. Shawl, sweater and a cap or muffler for parents.
• Diwali is on arrival day (8 Nov). Expect smoke and haze for a day or two after, so carry masks, especially for anyone with breathing trouble.
• The sun is strong at midday (UV around 6). Caps, sunglasses and water for the Prayagraj and BHU days.
